I recently held a workshop for PT, OT, and SLP practice owners.
During a QA session, a gentleman stood up and asked a question that nearly stumped me.
The topic of the day was on how to attract, hire and retain good people.
As you know, the climate in today’s rehab hiring market is difficult especially if you’re trying to hire a therapist.
He said, “Jamey, what happens if I invest in developing and training my staff and then they leave?”
I paused for a moment…and said
“What if you don’t, and they stay?”
The greatest opportunity we have is in the growth and development of our team.
I have analyzed hundreds of practices.
The constant I see time and time again is how underutilized the staff is being used.
Low productivity. Poor utilization. Inefficient systems. Staff Confusion.
All of these things negatively affect revenue and profit.
And they force you to work harder and longer.
Perhaps it’s time to invest in the most important asset you have…
