Have you ever just had “one of those days” where your energy is zapped, you don’t have confidence, you’re stressed out, and just feel generally overwhelmed?
I call this a “negative zone”, and most of us (myself included) have all been there (in my case, sometimes several times in the same day!)
Everyone has negative days, but it all comes down to how we deal with these situations when we find ourselves in this negative headspace.
One of the biggest mistakes that we can make is making a decision out of a negative place. We may not even realize we’re doing it, but if we make decisions when our brain isn’t operating on all cylinders, it can become detrimental to our financial success and our relationships… both at home and at work.
So, what do you do about it?
Introducing the Confidence Toolbox
Developed for the busy and overwhelmed private practice owner, the Confidence Toolbox helps business owners stay out of the negative zone by focusing on activities that increase energy and confidence… leading to greater creativity, better decision making and accelerated progress.
Make A List of Activities That Energize You
Make a list of activities (e.g.; running, yoga, listening to podcasts, reading, etc.) that give you energy, lift your spirits or give you confidence.
Actively Incorporate More of These Activities Into Your Work Week
Make an active effort to do the activities that put you in a positive headspace more often, and incorporate them into your workday routine.
Whether it’s taking a run after a worrisome meeting with a staff member or a meditative session between phone calls, start with just the smallest thing that you can do and work up from there.
Keep Your Toolbox Handy The Next Time You Find Yourself In A Negative Zone
When you feel yourself get into this negative zone, look at this toolbox and see what you can do to pull yourself out. At the very least, especially if you’re in your clinic, just go for a walk. Get some fresh air, go outside. If it’s sunny out, get some sun, taking a break, taking a deep breath. Your future self will thank you.
